Del 25 al 29 de abril, el instituto bastetano IES Pedro Jiménez Montoya ha acogido el cuarto encuentro internacional “Face the Past, Change our Future”, coordinado por la profesora de Geografía e Historia Laura Gallego. En dicho encuentro han participado unas 50 personas, entre alumnado y profesorado de cada uno de los centros implicados en este proyecto Erasmus+. En esta ocasión, las delegaciones visitantes procedían de Suecia, Luxemburgo, Alemania, y Bélgica.
El tema escogido para su análisis y debate ha sido el de la represión durante la Guerra Civil y el periodo franquista. Con este fin se ha elaborado una gran variedad de recursos didácticos, incluida una emotiva recopilación audiovisual de testimonios e historias reales, disponibles en español e inglés.
El programa de actividades ha incluido debates, rutas temáticas por la localidad de Baza e incluso la realización de un sondeo entre la población local sobre la percepción de este episodio histórico y sus protagonistas. Asimismo, se ha contado con la presencia de destacados investigadores tales como la historiadora María Isabel Ruíz, reconocida escritora y miembro del grupo de investigación SUR-CLIO.
De especial interés, han sido las visitas guiadas por Almería y a la Base Álvarez Sotomayor, en Viator, donde se hizo un ameno e instructivo recorrido por la historia de la Legión y las funciones que cumple en la actualidad. Los refugios antiaéreos de la Guerra Civil o el monumento a las víctimas de Mauthausen son algunos de los enclaves emblemáticos que se exploraron durante la visita a Almería.
El visionado de la película española “la Mula”, subtitulada en inglés para la ocasión, y la elaboración de “padlets” (tableros digitales colaborativos) por parte del alumnado, quien previamente había sido distribuido en grupos internacionales, completaron la planificación de esta intensa semana en la que no faltó la puesta en valor del rico patrimonio natural y cultural de la comarca, gracias en gran medida a la implicación activa y generosa de las familias y del alumnado del IES Pedro Jiménez Montoya que ha colaborado en este evento europeo.
Gracias a la inestimable cooperación de los responsables del Parque Natural de la Sierra de Baza representados por su Directora, Almudena Cano, esta segunda jornada del encuentro internacional Gamers4nature ha transcurrido en este espacio natural de la Sierra de Baza y en las dependencias del centro de visitantes de Narváez.
En esta ocasión, el alumnado y el profesorado de Irlanda, Portugal, Hungría y España, en concreto del IES Pedro Jiménez Montoya, han participado en una divertida e instructiva gymkhana de orientación, y han realizado una valoración medioambiental de la zona empleando para ello la herramienta de “eco-assessment” IMPRINT+. El espacio de Narváez ha albergado también una reunión de trabajo en la que se han analizado las últimas actuaciones del proyecto Gamers4nature . La jornada ha concluido en el pantano del Negratín lugar este donde los participantes han tenido la oportunidad de disfrutar del pintoresco paisaje del Geoparque y de la oferta de actividades acuáticas.
La Sierra de Baza ha sido el espacio escogido por el centro bastetano para el proyecto Gamers4Nature. Este ha servido de inspiración para la creación de una colección de tarjetas temáticas y de una serie de juegos interactivos por parte del alumnado.
Este miércoles 20 de abril ha comenzado en el IES Pedro Jiménez Montoya el cuarto encuentro internacional Erasmus+ Gamers4nature. En este proyecto, coordinado por la Universidad de Aveiro, participan centros educativos de Irlanda, Hungría, y Portugal, además de la Asociación Bioliving. Durante esta primera sesión el alumnado del Sancta Maria College, del Péter András Gimnázium és Kollégium, del Agrupamento de Escolas Emídio Garcia y del IES Pedro Jiménez Montoya ha presentado su centro educativo, su país y la biodiversidad de su región, enfatizando los riesgos medioambientales. El idioma en el que se desarrollan las diferentes actividades es el inglés y por ello esta iniciativa supone una verdadera experiencia de inmersión.
A continuación, se han dado a conocer los mejores juegos interactivos diseñados por el alumnado de cada uno de los institutos participantes y se ha hecho una valoración de dichos juegos. Una visita guiada al CIYA (Centro de Interpretación del Yacimiento Arqueológico) y por el casco histórico de Baza han servido para vivir y sentir el patrimonio cultural y artístico de Baza.
Desde el IES Pedro Jiménez Montoya seguimos trabajando en el Programa Vivir y Sentir el Patrimonio. Alumnado de 4º de ESO en ruta para conocer Baza, alumnado de 1º de ESO de visita en el CIYA y alumnado de ciclos trabajando en comidas típicas, alumnado de Laboratorio, que ha creado unos increíbles Genially para difusión de nuestro patrimonio. Esos son solo algunos ejemplos de actividades realizadas. Y seguimos!
El I.E.S. Pedro Jiménez Montoya participa en el programa formativo ERASMUS + FOOTSTEP Granada, llevado a cabo por la Diputación de Granada y cofinanciado por la Unión Europea, que ofrece realizar prácticas de dos meses de duración en empresas establecidas en otros países de Europa.
Dicho programa va destinado a alumnado de ciclos formativos de grado medio del centro. Para informar al respecto sobre la convocatoria, solicitudes, países colaboradores y demás cuestiones, ha visitado el I.E.S. D. Fernando Peinado, perteneciente a la Sección de Juventud de la Diputación de Granada.
El alumnado interesado en la realización del programa formativo ha de presentar la solicitud en el I.E.S. Pedro Jiménez Montoya antes del 30 de enero de 2022.

Then, at nine o’clock we started each country’s presentations. The Swedish students started by talking about their country. Then they gave a funny presentation about how we should behave in Sweden (in many ways the opposite to the way we behave in Spain) and then we learned about Swedish history. We were next and we were really nervous but our presentation went quite well.
About ten o’clock they gave us “Fica”. This is kind of a sweet snack typical in Sweden. After this we kept on with the other presentations and at twelve we had lunch at the school.
Next we played some games to get to know each other. Furthermore, we had three different quizzes about the European Union. In addition, we had a scavenger hunt around the school.
We left school and we took the bus to a mall in Skovde. Some of us had a big sandwich and then we went to play laser tag. We had fun! At the end of the day we had dinner at home.

DAY 2 (16 nov.)
Today was the quietest day of the trip according to our host.
When we arrived at the high school we were waiting for the activity to start with the other exchange students from Belgium in a room with some sofas (we found it very curious that they have these kinds of “rest rooms” everywhere).
Then we listened to a two-hour talk about the Sami, a small group of people living in Lapland. Between the two hours of class we had a Fika.
The last activity in the school was lunch and later we went to the cinema to watch a movie related to the Sami, called “Sami blood.” The movie was about a girl who suffered discrimination for belonging to the Sami group and escapes from her school to start a new life.
When the movie finished, each of the exchange students made different plans with our host, for example, Belen and Irene went to the forest and Elena and Natalia baked cookies and muffins.
The day has ended early as tomorrow we are leaving for Stockholm. WE ARE VERY EXCITED!
DAY 3 (17 nov.)
On Wednesday we went to Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden.
We visited some museums and we had lunch at the army museum. We took a boat to go to the Vasa museum, where you can see the world’s best preserved 17th century ship and the most visited museum in Scandinavia. They recovered the ship after being on the sea bed for over 300 years.
Later, we went to the old part of town, where we spent our free time walking around the city. Then it was time to go back on the high speed train!
DAY 4 (18 nov.)
Today was a day dedicated to museums.
At nine o’clock we met near the Västergötlands Museum and we had a walk around some old houses, farms,…Then we visited the veterinarian museum where we watched a film about its foundation and had a guided tour. It was really interesting to see all the equipment of that time.
After that, we had lunch at the Västergötlands Museum and then we also had a guided tour there. We learned a lot about some archeological findings in Skara and its history. At 1 o’clock we had “fika”with all the other students and then we continued our visit.
When we finished our tour, we had free time in the afternoon with our hosts and we had a great time! Some of us went shopping and others visited a nearby town.
DAY 5 (19 nov.)
Today we arrived at school at 8:00 o’clock and we had to work on different padlets to share everything we had learned during the week. When we finished, we went to have lunch at school. After that, we went ice skating and it was really exciting! We went back to school to work on the final evaluation of the project. When we finished, we went bowling. It was so much fun! Then we went to a taco buffet and we loved it. To finish the day we went shopping to get some Swedish sweets to take to Spain for our families.
